Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make an appointment?
Fill out the consultation request form on our website, and once we receive it, we will reach out to you with all the information needed to proceed with your booking.
Do you take walk-ins?
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate walk-ins at this time. We are a private studio and work by appointment only. This allows your artist to meet with you, gather your ideas prior to the appointment, and have enough time to draw your piece and secure the appropriate amount of time needed for your tattoo. You may stop by the shop during our hours to check for artist availability, but please plan on making an appointment.
Can I meet with my artist before I book?
Yes, and it is greatly encouraged. As artists, we all have specific styles, which is why we hope you choose your artist carefully. We prefer to meet with you to discuss your thoughts and ideas to create a custom design that fits your vision.
Do you do cover-ups and touch-ups?
Yes, but it is on a client-to-client basis. We need to see the existing tattoo first to determine whether it can be covered or fixed.
What qualifications do your studio and artists have?
Our shop is licensed according to South Carolina state laws and DHEC regulations. Each artist is certified yearly in blood-borne pathogens and infection control, as well as biannually in first aid and CPR. Every artist also has their own specific artistic qualifications.
If my child is underage, can I give my consent for them to get a tattoo?
No. South Carolina does not have parental consent laws for tattoos. We urge you to consider the decisions you thought were a good idea before age 18 and rethink your consent!
How much does a tattoo cost?
Tattoo costs vary depending on size, placement, and complexity. Our shop minimum is $150, and prices go up from there. Cost and pricing will be determined between the artist and the client before any appointments are booked. We do not claim to be the cheapest shop, but we always provide our best work.
Will I be charged for a touch-up?
In some cases, touch-ups are free. However, for tattoos on hands or feet, payment will be required as these areas tend to fade and may need multiple passes. If the tattoo has healed improperly due to incorrect aftercare, a touch-up fee may also apply.
How will you communicate with me about booking my tattoo?
Typically, we will respond to your consultation request via email. If we do not hear back from you within a few days, we will attempt to call you. When submitting your request, please specify your preferred mode of communication and the best time to reach you, and we will do our best to accommodate.
What is your deposit policy?
Deposits vary based on the size and style of the tattoo, but all deposits are non-refundable and start at a minimum of $100. There is also a non-refundable art fee for all custom tattoos, determined by your artist.
Your deposit will be applied to the final session of your tattoo. If you cancel your appointment within 72 hours of your scheduled time, you forfeit your deposit. If you provide at least 72 hours’ notice, you can transfer your deposit to a new appointment. Canceling more than twice for the same tattoo will require an additional deposit.
Do you have a payment plan?
No, we do not offer payment plans. You will leave a deposit, and payment for each session will be due at the time of service. However, you may make payments in advance leading up to your appointment, and we will keep track of what you have paid. Your deposit will be applied to the final session unless it is a one-session piece.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and cash. We also accept Venmo and CashApp; however, all non-cash payments will include a service charge.
Should I tip my artist?
Tipping is a reflection of your satisfaction with your overall experience and is always appreciated.
Does it hurt?
Pain tolerance varies for everyone, so it depends on factors such as your mental state, health, tattoo placement, and personal tolerance. Some areas may be more painful than others, but many people find the experience to be cathartic.
Will anyone laugh at me if I cry?
Absolutely not. We understand that some areas are more sensitive than others, and not everyone handles pain the same way. Your journey is unique, and our goal is to support you in receiving the tattoo of your dreams.
